Glossy Ibis

We were in Pagosa Springs recently and saw these birds that looked very "out of place" in Colorado. I believe they are Glossy Ibis (or is that Ibi?) Plegadis falcinellus.

They're definitely Ibis. We've got the white variety down here and the red variety inhabit the caribbean. Beautiful birds.

I've just seen a group of these birds in Salida (Aug. 10). They were identical to those you've posted here. There were approximately 20 of them feeding in a marshy pasture area adjacent to a bike trail. They sure didn't look like any birds I've ever seen in Colorado!
